Body of loss

A specific palette of complex colors bring light to "Body Of Loss", a painting depicting the harrowing experience of losing ones self in the process of grieving. Whether a loss is tangible or an abstract concept, the mourning affair is relative to the aftermath that lies in wait. The loss represented in this painting is not only the blunt interpretation of the title, it is also found in the person surviving, the person left with only memories to dismantle time and time again. Reading between the lines equates to viewing the body formed in the background of this piece, with the body fading and becoming encompassed by the loss itself. The artist intentionally left white canvas shining through to illustrate the resolve of time, suggesting that though the subject is momentarily misplaced, time does prevail and the self will be found once again.
